Privacy notice

The career-learning portal at student.thamunkpillai.com is a free, non-commercial learning service run by Thamotharan Neelakandapillai (thamunkpillai.com), who is responsible for your data on this portal. It has no ads and no paid features, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.

• From Google sign-in: your email address, your name and Google’s account id for you. We do not receive your photo, contacts or password.
• Your answers when you start: an optional first name, course and year of study, experience, interests, goal, daily study time, learning style, language, confidence and what device you study on. All except the core learning questions are optional.
• Your learning: your roadmap, the lessons you open and finish, the work you type into practice areas and tasks, your quiz and exam answers and results, reflections, project links and the job-readiness checklist.
• Usage records: the time and type of each AI request (for example “lesson”) and whether it worked. These hold no lesson or question text and are deleted automatically after 90 days. We use them only for fair daily limits and to keep the service running.

We confirm when you sign up that you are 18 or older (see below). We do not collect your phone number, address, caste, religion or any financial information.

• To run your account and keep your progress on any device.
• To plan a roadmap and lessons that suit you.
• To mark tasks, quizzes and exams, and show your progress.
• To apply fair daily limits and prevent misuse.

We use your data only for these purposes, and only because you chose to sign up. You can withdraw at any time by deleting your account (see “Your choices”).

Roadmaps, lessons, exams and the learning assistant are written by an AI model run by Groq. To write them, the AI receives your career path, the stage and topic, your experience level, language, learning style, daily time, year of study, your course name (without any college name), your confidence levels and device, and anything you type into the assistant or ask it to review.

The AI never receives your name, email or Google account id. Please do not type personal details such as your phone number into the assistant.

Groq states that it does not keep request data by default, and may keep it for up to 30 days only for troubleshooting or abuse checks. AI-written content is checked automatically for structure but not reviewed by a teacher, so it can contain mistakes.

• Google: sign-in.
• MongoDB Atlas: the database that stores your account and progress.
• Vercel: hosts the website.
• Groq: runs the AI model (see above).

These services may store or process data on servers outside India. They process it only to provide their service to us.

We use one sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, plus short-lived security cookies that Google sign-in needs. There are no advertising or analytics cookies on this portal.

We keep your account and learning data until you delete it. Usage records are deleted after 90 days. Lessons and exams the AI writes are shared between students who reach the same topic; they contain no personal data and stay after you delete your account.

• See and download everything we store about you: Settings → Download my data.
• Correct your answers any time in Settings, or by starting again.
• Delete your account and all your learning data: Settings → Delete all my learning data. This happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Accounts are for people aged 18 or older. If you tell us you are under 18, we delete the account straight away. You can still read the career paths and the free sample lessons without an account.

For any question, correction or complaint about your data, write to connect@thamunkpillai.com or use the contact page. We will reply as soon as we can. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
